to get the hell out of here.
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
it would make me feel better about myself LOL.
When one comes to a fork in the road, he or she will typically take the one traveled more. Down that road is an easy, simple path. The other path is less way traveled. Maybe because the terrain isn’t even, or because it’s longer than the other one. Maybe that path is full of holes in the ground that one may have to climb out of, or creatures that will make your travels extremely difficult. I understand why people would take the quicker way, without really thinking about whats down the other. But what if the other path is full of beautiful things? Things that you never knew existed or saw before. Things that can make one completely convivial. Why is it that the possibility of a negative outcome always outweighs the possibility of a negative one? It’s pretty much a 50/50 chance. Unless one has literally taken that exact path before. Which I’m sure isn’t possible. Why not take that chance of experiencing ecstasy?
I know I’d want to take that chance. Put the fear of a tough journey behind me, because it might be something wonderful. But I also see why people don’t want to try. Because they aren’t strong enough. Not strong enough to take the leap and deal with the negative IF it its on the path.
Even if negative comes, there is still good from the bad. You learn a few things.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
